How much does FoloCam cost?

FoloCam is free for unlimited 10-minute recordings. A $49.99/year subscription unlocks unlimited recording duration and RTMP live streaming.

The $150 FoloCam Kit on Amazon includes a DockKit-compatible motorized gimbal and a lifetime subscription tied to the gimbal.

Which gimbals are compatible with FoloCam?

FoloCam requires an Apple DockKit-compatible motorized gimbal. Verified compatible models:

• Insta360 Flow Pro
• Insta360 Flow 2 Pro
• Comitok Mogo
• DJI Osmo Mobile 8

If a gimbal's product page does not explicitly mention DockKit support, it cannot be used with FoloCam.

Which iPhone do I need to run FoloCam?

FoloCam requires iPhone 13 or newer. For filming a full-size soccer field, iPhone 15 or newer is recommended so you can use the lossless 2× zoom.

Soccer Pro Mode requires iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 (base or Pro), iPhone 16, or iPhone 17.

Does FoloCam record in 4K at 60 fps?

4K60 recording is on the immediate roadmap and is being rolled out after the v1.3 release. Current recording is 4K30 on supported iPhone models.

What is Soccer Pro Mode?

Soccer Pro Mode uses a larger object-detection model to track the ball more accurately at distance. It runs on iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 (base or Pro), iPhone 16, and iPhone 17. Older iPhones cannot run the model fast enough for live tracking.

Can FoloCam live-stream to YouTube, or another RTMP service?

Yes. With an active subscription, FoloCam supports RTMP live streaming.

Combine the server URL and stream key from your streaming service into a single URL formatted as <server-url>/<stream-key>, then paste it into FoloCam.

Can a sports club share one FoloCam subscription?

The $150 FoloCam Kit lifetime subscription is tied to the gimbal, so multiple users can take turns filming with the same kit by activating it once on each of their own iPhones.

Outside the Kit, each iCloud account needs its own subscription — iOS does not currently support a multi-seat organization plan. If your club needs a custom arrangement, email support@folocam.com.

How do I share or export a recording?

You don't need a subscription to share recordings. Open the iOS Files app and navigate to the FoloCam folder — every video file (and log file) is stored there.

From the Files app you can share, AirDrop, or copy a recording to a Mac, PC, or cloud drive.

My gimbal shows “Gimbal disconnected” — how do I fix it?

Pair your iPhone with the gimbal over NFC: tap the phone against the gimbal's NFC pairing point until iOS shows a connection confirmation. The DockKit connection runs over Bluetooth after the initial NFC pairing.

If problems persist: force-quit FoloCam, power-cycle the gimbal, and retry the NFC pairing.

Does FoloCam collect personal data?

No. FoloCam collects no personal data. All ball tracking and video processing runs on your iPhone — nothing is uploaded to FoloCam servers. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
